General Information

Rodney Walshe, and subsequently through his companies Rodney Walshe Ltd and The Walshe Group has represented Ireland tourism for 33 years in New Zealand, beginning with the representation of Bord Failte (the Irish Tourist Board) in 1972. The Northern Ireland Tourist Board was added in 1985, making the office unique in that it represented the whole of the island of Ireland – an approach which became standard following the establishment of Tourism Ireland in 2002, the marketing body for the whole of Ireland.

2004, saw a near record year for New Zealand visitors to Ireland – 23,000 in total, representing a year-over-year increase of 21%
